Coasteering Social

Some of our team members took part on a Coasteering adventure over the weekend in North Cornwall.

Being part of a search and rescue team involves a lot of training, as well as being on call 24/7 365 days year. Exercises include: navigation, first-aid, search techniques and rope rescue to name just a few.

Our voluntary work can often be stressful and demanding. So it’s important to have a break from the normal training occasionally and be among friends. We have a great social side to our team, where like-minded individuals can take part in activities like this!

Being part of search and rescue teams, like Mountain Rescue England and Wales, Lowland Rescue, Maritime and Coastguard Agency and RNLI is a good way to meet new friends as well as giving back to the community.

Thanks to Newquay Activity Centre for the tour and team member, Elliot, for organising.

Note: Make sure you take part in Coasteering as part of an organised group with appropriate PPE.
