Karsten conquers the Fellsman

Karsten is a priest, and also an operational call-out member with WCSAR, joining the team in 2020 and attending many incidents since. Last weekend he completed the Fellsman – a high level traverse covering more than 60 miles over very hard rugged moorland. The event climbs over 11,000 feet in its path from Ingleton to Threshfield in the Yorkshire Dales.

He raised £1000 for the team, and presented the cheque last night to our Team Leader, Paul.

Karsten said on his JustGiving page, “Dear all, I’m glad to report I’ve finished the race yesterday in 25 hours. Feeling very sore now (especially my feet) but in a strange way enjoyed the experience. Thank you everyone for your generosity in sponsoring me. West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team is a very worthy cause. Hopefully you’ll never need the team to find you should you get injured or lost but if you do they will try to find you 24/7, including on Christmas Day, Easter and even on Pancake Tuesday.”

It’s not too late to sponsor him and donate vital funds to the team – https://www.justgiving.com/page/karsten-wedgewood-1712363500537

Join us in saying a massive well done to Karsten, and thanks to everyone who sponsored him! 👏🙌👏

Our unpaid volunteers are available 24/7, 365 days a year to support the emergency services to search for lost, missing and injured people.
