Underground rescue training

Underground rescue training

Earlier this week, we carried out some underground training.

Our mine rescue and cas-care specialists were given the opportunity to provide immediate care to the simulated casualty as well as help to extract them to safety through confined spaces.

Mining is central to Cornish history, the landscape being pitted with shafts, some capped, some open. We receive a small number of call-outs every year reporting dogs and people having fallen down mine workings.

West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team is a member of the British Cave Rescue Council – BCRC
