After our 2026 assessment day, we’re pleased to welcome our newest group of trainees.

They’re about to commence a six-month training programme, covering everything from first aid, navigation and communications to search techniques, rope work, water safety and helicopter operations.

As with our call-out members, the trainees come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring different skills and experiences to the team. What they all have in common is giving their time voluntarily to help support the communities of West Cornwall.

With plenty of hard work still ahead, we’re hoping that by the summer they’ll reach probationary call-out status and earn their red jackets. We’ll keep you updated on how their training is going over the coming months!
