Earlier this month, team members Tony and James took part in a Search Managers course alongside colleagues from East Cornwall, Dartmoor, and Exmoor SAR teams.

Over three intensive, information-packed days, they developed vital skills in planning and coordinating missing person searches. They are now qualified to join our team controllers in working alongside the police to lead our response during search call-outs.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the weekend possible—especially the instructors from Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation and Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team for their expert teaching, and to Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Tavistock for the use of their excellent base.

Great work, Tony and James!
