Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician course

Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician course

Call-out member, Adam (who is also a paramedic), recently had the privilege of attending the Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician course run by WEMSI-international. Hosted at Staylittle Lodge, nestled in the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales, this course is fast paced, and action packed.

Bringing together and engaging a variety of like-minded people, the faculty are all extremely knowledgeable and keen to impart their knowledge. The lectures and scenarios tested his abilities in a remote location to the limit; nonetheless thanks to the support and guidance of the faculty and fellow students we can happily say Adam passed.

Adam says, ‘this course has given me huge insight into how I can utilise my skills in a remote setting, and knowledge that I hope will benefit my patients both in my day job and with WCSAR. Although I hope I can control my fear face better in the future!’
