Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming members of St Buryan YFC into the base. The team are their nominated charity and the group have already raised lots of vital funds which we’re all incredibly grateful for!

Our team members gave a talk about our voluntary work, including how we operate on searches; as well as our rope rescue, water rescue, medical and search dog capabilities.

We then demonstrated the use of some of our kit and the Young Farmers even got hands on themselves on our Titan Stretcher. Potentially some new team members in the making…

Thanks so much for the support and we’re excited to hear about future fundraising activities!

The team has annual running costs in excess of £15,000 but receives no government funding. As a charity, the service we provide to the people of west Cornwall is only possible as a result of individual, community and corporate generosity.

We don’t have a single paid member of staff, so all of the donations received go directly towards our operations.

There are many other ways to raise funds for the team. For ideas and tips, download our free Fundraising Pack here – https://westcornwallsar.co.uk/support-us/
