MEDICAL – College Reservoir (27/05/23)

On Saturday, the team were tasked by Devon & Cornwall Police after a call from South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust to attend to an injured walker on a footpath at College Reservoir, near Penryn. A man had been walking with his dog when he fell and had a suspected fractured leg.

Once our team members arrived on scene, with the assistance of paramedics, the casualty was packaged and evacuated towards the waiting ambulance.

It was a difficult extraction as the terrain was very challenging. It would have taken longer if we had taken him completely back along the footpath, but our team members were able to access some neighboring fields where the patient could be transferred to our 4×4 vehicle. He was driven across farmland to the waiting ambulance, for further transportation to Treliske.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
