SEARCH – Bodelva (05/11/24)
The team received a call from Devon & Cornwall Police to assist with the search for a high-risk missing person in the Bodelva area near to the Eden Project. Colleagues from East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team had already been searching throughout the night.
Working alongside East Cornwall team members and the Police, we were also joined by Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Plymouth, Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England and a Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service specialist drones unit.
After searching for over 2-hours, thankfully we received information that our missing person had been located by a member of the public outside our search area. One of our team Paramedics headed to the location alongside other team members.
An East Cornwall SRT spokesperson said:
‘After a very difficult extrication with the assistance of St Austell Community Fire Station the casualty was handed over to the care of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust for onward treatment and a trip to Treliske hospital.’
‘We would all like to wish them a very speedy recovery and thank the members of public for sharing the missing person posts.’
A successful, multi-agency search operation. Thanks to Rapid Relief Team UK for supplying refreshments and Eden Project staff for the parking assistance.
