SEARCH – Falmouth (18/02/21)

We were contacted by Devon & Cornwall Police at 23.28 to join a high-profile search for a missing 89yr old male in the Falmouth area.

20 team members have been searching throughout the night alongside Falmouth Lifeboat, Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team, Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team and the Police NPAS. A vast amount of areas have been covered including urban and parkland locations.

Unfortunately the male is still missing as of 07.30. If you are in the Falmouth area please check your gardens and outbuildings, and contact the Police if you have any relevant information.

UPDATE

The family of a pensioner who went missing last night and was not found until this morning have issued a sad update. Despite the best efforts of all involved, Mr Brookes passed away in hospital earlier today with close family by his side.

In the Packet Newspaper, his goddaughter Freyja said ‘His wife Joy would like to reiterate the thanks to all the police, specialist search teams, coastguard, RNLI, helicopter and RNLI crews and you beautiful lot for sharing, caring and searching so hard and selflessly for Chris.”

Everyone at West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team shares our deepest condolences to Mr Brookes’ family and friends.
