CALL OUT

21/04/24 – Heligan

We were tasked by Devon & Cornwall Police at 04.10 this morning to assist East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team in a search for a high risk missing person near to The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

We conducted searches in rural and parkland locations, alongside East Cornwall SRT and two search dog teams from Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England.

After a few hours the police received information of a gentleman fitting the description of the missing person that a member of the public had located. The police and two of the East Corwnall SRT casualty carers made their way to the location.

After an initial assessment the casualty was found to be very cold but otherwise in good spirits. South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust were requested to transport the casualty to hospital for further checks.

We were stood down at 08.15.

We would also like to say a massive thank you the the team at The Lost Gardens of Heligan for the refreshments during the early morning call-out!
