At 01:40 on Wednesday morning, we were requested by Devon & Cornwall Police to assist in the search for a high-risk missing person in the Penzance area.

Our teams searched steep, densely wooded terrain throughout the night.

At 06:00, we were stood down while Police continued their inquiries, and our volunteer team members returned home to begin their working day.

Devon & Cornwall Police have issued a statement this morning saying the missing person “has been found safe” and they “would like to thank members of the public for their help”.

All of our team members are volunteers. We’re available 24/7, 365 days a year to assist the emergency services in searching for missing, vulnerable, and injured people across West Cornwall.
