SEARCH – Rough Tor (27/01/21)
At around 15.00 today we were called by Devon & Cornwall Police to assist East Cornwall Search & Rescue Team in a search for a missing man and his dog on Bodmin Moor. They had set off earlier in the morning but got disoriented in thick fog and rain, and had dialled 999 and asked for help.

20 of our team members were available and en-route to assist our neighboring Mountain Rescue team, as well as colleagues from Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England, Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team – Tavistock and North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team.

Unfortunately the weather was below the limits for the police helicopter or search and rescue helicopter.

After four hours of searching, news was received that the male had managed to make his way off the moor, and he and his dog were safe and well. Police were in attendance to debrief the male. Following this update we were stood down.
