SEARCH – Treen (11/01/24)

At 9.30am yesterday we were requested by Devon & Cornwall Police to assist with a multi-agency search for a high-risk missing person in the Lands End area. It was our third call-out in five days.

Our volunteer call-out members searched coastal areas and rural locations for six hours. Colleagues from Lands End Coastguard Search & Rescue Team, St Ives Coastguard Rescue Team and Penzance Coastguard Rescue Team as well as RNLI Lifeboats, Police Drones and a Police helicopter were also in attendance.

Having completed all of our allocated search areas the team were stood down at 15.00.

Thanks to the staff at The Logan Rock Inn for providing our volunteers with food and hot drinks during the search (pictured).

All of our team members are volunteers. We’re available 24/7, 365 days of the year to assist the emergency services to search for missing, vulnerable and injured people across West Cornwall.

We rely on public donations to operate.
