SEARCH – White Cross (02/08/23)

At 04.00 this morning the team were tasked by Devon & Cornwall Police to assist with the search for a missing person at a holiday park near to Newquay.

At the RV, our search manager, alongside the Police Lost Person Search Manager (LPSM) were creating a search strategy and team members were getting their kit prepped. A Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England team were also on scene as well as a Police dog unit.

Thankfully, news came in that the missing person had been located safe and well by a local Newquay Police officer.

Two of our team’s cas-carers checked the person over to make sure there were no medical issues. Once satisfied, we were stood down at 06:00 to start the working day.

All of our team members are volunteers. We’re available 24/7, 365 days of the year to assist the emergency services to search for missing, vulnerable and injured people across West Cornwall.

We rely on public donations to operate.
