Much like the rest of the team, I love being outdoors and joined the team to support the local community and promote the safety and welfare of others. At present, I am currently under-taking additional ‘cas-care’ training with a small group from within the team. This qualification allows team members to provide a higher level of pre-hospital care in accordance with Mountain Rescue England and Wales accredited training. I thoroughly enjoy volunteering alongside such a diverse group of like-minded people. All team members bring a wealth of life experiences which enriches the overall team. I have developed many new skills since joining WCSAR including navigation and searching for lost or missing people... not to mention the additional techniques of how to apply these in the middle of night, in the rain, deep in the Cornish countryside by head-torch!
